Find a partner school

Using art as a theme for school partnerships
The materials produced by this project were originally designed for use in one school. But what if they could be used schools in different countries (or in different parts of the same country) as a resource for a school to school partnership? Here are some ideas:

- Compare local galleries - and use our materials with paintings or sculptures chosen by the pupils
- Look at the same module and share the pupils' work
- Create joint exhibitions in each school and invite parents to a 'viewing' evening
- Teachers - what did you do in the classroom?

For any of these ideas, and for others of your own you need a like-minded partner school. The aim of these pages is to make that process easier. Partnerships are at their best when shared by the whole school or at least with a group of colleagues so before starting please think about:

- Are we looking for a partner school in a particular country or region?
- Have we discussed this idea with the headteacher and governors (if appropriate)?
- How will we communicate?
- Are we looking for a short-term link or a longer school to school partnership?
- Is there are funding we could apply for to help with school linking?*

* A note for UK schools. The UK is no longer a participant in the EU Erasmus + programme (this includes eTwinning). However it may be possible for EU teachers to job shadow in UK schools. The UK has a domestic funding programme for pupil mobility, this is the Turing Scheme which has a new deadline early in 2024. The Global Learning Association can give further advice on this scheme.
